Today in literacy me and my friend Tumoe made a song about the book called Monkey’s Paw by W.W Jacobs ! The book is based on a Monkey’s Paw that grants wishes but also comes with severe consequences. Good morning everyoneee !!! It’s finally the last term of 2024 !!! WHOOOPPP WHOOOPPP !!! Our theme for this term ‘May the Force Be With You, Kia Kaha Te Kaha Ki A Koe’ In team 5 our main focus is sound and how we can make noises with various things around us. We’ll also be learning about our ears and how sound travels into them and allows us to hear. I’m very excited to see what we learn and I can’t waitt !!! Heeyyy everyoneee, today is officially the last day of schoolll, WHOOHOOOO !!! Anyways, this term at Pt England School our focus was ‘Karawhiua, Give it heaps.’ It was basically all bout health and fitness and how we could get more fit by doing things at home, eating well, and making sure we keep active. In team 5 we all had to group up and have a skill to learn over the term. My skill was skipping ropes and double dutch. I did this skill with some of my best friends Tumoe, Taisha, and Aniqua and we recorded our progress throughout the term but I didn’t get to finish it but I hope you all really enjoy my little movie. Heyy everyonee !!

It has been awhile but I’m back!!!

Anyways, in literacy we were looking into the book/novel called ‘The Glass Boy’ by Melaina Faranda which basically talks about this boy called Pietro who works in a glass foundry and has some struggles as he was given up by his mother because they were to poor and couldn’t keep living the way they were because things were too expensive. Little did she know she gave her son up to a Maestro who owns a big foundry and has alot of moneyyy !! Pietro would soon grow up and have to work in the big foundry. Here is my little collage which shows little pictures from the book and what I thought the author’s main message was in the book. Title: ‘Runaway with the money’ 

Scene:  The Narrator drives to KFC drive thru and sees a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker askes for a ride, but the narrator drives past him. 

Narrator: Is driving to KFC and sees hitch hiker 

Hitchhiker: Sees car drive past and asks for a ride 

Narrator: Drives straight past hitch hiker

Hitchhiker:  Hitchhiker gets annoyed but keeps trying 

Narrator: Drives past hitch hiker again while eating food 

Hitchhiker: RUNS UP TO THE CAR LIKE A MANIAC ! “Heyyy, I need a ridee” 

Narrator: Gets scared “GET AWAY YOU RATTY MAN !”

Hitchhiker: I’ll give you anything !!!

Narrator: Well, do you have any moneyyyyyy?

Hitchhiker: Boo ! I got some moneyyy

Narrator: Well, then give me the moneyyyy 

Hitchhiker:You’re getting your moneyyy ! 

Hitchiker: Gets in the car and they talk to each other and suddenly are bestfriends eating kfc together.

Today in literacy class we were learning about character traits and the book we read was ‘The Hitch-Hiker” by Roald Dahl !! This book is basically about a hitch hiker that was picked up by a fancy man and ended up showing how he manipulated a policeman and pick pocketed him. As you can see above my task description is my script that I will be performing with two of my peers which are Tumoe and Eve in front of the class. We’ll be performing this as characters based on the book and will be portraying their character traits. Good Morning everyoneee !!

Immersion –

Today was the first day back at school !!! WHOOP WHOOPPP !! We had an immersion assembly to celebrate and introduce our theme for the term, which is ‘Karawhiua! Give it heaps!’ What we’re mostly focusing on this term is our fitness and how we can work on other things in school.

Holidays –

Anywayss… just like I said its the first day back at school but its also the end of the holidays *sighhhhh* , My highlight from the holidays was hanging out with family and making memories. My lowlight from the holidays was having to clean the house, like cleaning dishes, vacuuming, folding washing, and making cups of tea LOL! But overall my holidays were funn !!

My Goals –

Lastly, goals. I have terms for this term and I want to complete them to a high standard and make myself proud ! My first goal is to get fit and eat more healthy foods. Another goal I have is to read for recreation/enjoyment and build my vocabulary overtime. This will not only benefit my vocabulary but it’ll also benefit me in ways like learning more words and definitions, be able to identify words and sentences without hesitation !

Heeyy guys !!

Our theme for this term is transformers which basically talks about acting/drama. In team 5 we all had to choose a play or story we wanted to perform. We would later have to practice everyday in the afternoon and have to do table reads to see what we had to improve on. The play me and my group chose was a play called ‘Fire’ which was about this inventor that invented fire! Its a humours and engaging play!! For me and my group which contained Me (Eleni), Alaysia, Brooke, Flynn, and Blessing we found it pretty challenging and tricky to keep focus but overall we did okay, but in my personal opinion I think we could’ve better ! Morenaaa everyonee, in literacy class, today I made another book trailer about a book called ‘The Boy In The Back Of The Class’ !! It is a very interesting book that talks about a little refugee called Ahmet that came from Syria and also talks about 4 friends that feel empathy for him and are curious about his life.
